In 2003 Hanneke’s screenplay Talk Sheep was chosen as one of twelve projects to be part of the Sediba script development programme. In 2006 she won the NFVF and UK Film Council’s 25 Words or Less Competition in the fish out of water category with Jimmy in Pink. Her short film screenplay for Superhero was one of three winners in the NFVF’s Female Helmer short film competition. Superhero is also her debut as a director.
