Events Manager

(Job Ref: RECR/EM001)

Reporting to:     Head: Industry Development and Promotions

Job Purpose:

To manage and coordinate planned events and activations for the NFVF in the development and promotion of the film and video industry.

Qualification & Experience:

  • National Senior Certificate;
  • Verifiable tertiary qualification in Marketing/PR an added advantage;
  • 8-10 years experience in Marketing and Events Management and planning;
  • Managerial experience. 

Requirements:

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Implement the events strategy by determining events to be implemented;
  • Manage the development and implementation of project and activation plans, as well as project budgets;
  • Manage the coordination of events in order to market South African content;
  • A developed understanding of the film industry;
  • A good understanding of production budgets, finance plans and schedules;
  • An ability to lead a team of people in achieving institutional goals;
  • Delivering all job related tasks timeously and to a high standard of quality;
  • Willingness to travel locally and abroad;
  • Manage staff.

Marketing and Communications Manager

(Job Ref: RECR/MC001)

Reporting to:     Head: Industry Development and Promotions

Job Purpose:

To drive the growth of the NFVF brand within the industry and to ensure that all aspects of marketing and production match brand requirements

Qualification & Experience:

  • Verifiable Degree in Marketing/Communications/Public Relations;
  • 5-8 years experience in Marketing/Corporate Affairs/Communications/Public Relations/Media/Branding;
  • Managerial experience; 
  • Knowledge of film and video industry advantageous.  

Requirements:

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Develop and implement departmental marketing and communications plan in order to market the NFVF;
  • Manage the branding for all NFVF products, services, and projects;
  • Develop CI manual and oversee implementation of the brand;
  • Develop templates/architecture of channels i.e. website look and feel; newsletter etc.
  • Manage applications for marketing related activities (to access funding for production and to attend film festivals);
  • Sponsorship strategy to attract sponsors;
  • Scan and alert the NFVF to potential issues;
  • Develop and manage the execution of comprehensive plans for strategic communication; issues and crisis communication
  • Manage traditional and social media;
  • Write and edit all NFVF speeches;
  • Research, monitor, measure and evaluate communication interventions;
  • Manage resources i.e. suppliers; budget and recon process; checklist management etc.
  • Manage staff by implementing the performance management system in order to drive a high-performance culture

IT Manager

(Job Ref: RECR/IT001)

Reporting to:     Head of Operations

Job Purpose:

To provide the information technology services and support to ensure an optimal IT infrastructure at all times for the NFVF. To provide enabling technologies to improve the way in which the NFVF accomplishes its business and improve operating efficiency. To provide IT support to NFVF staff.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Verifiable Diploma or any relevant qualification in Information Technology required;
  • Verifiable Network+ Certificate and/or IT Project Management qualification will be an advantage;
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in IT Management;
  • 7 – 10 years of IT support and/or experience;
  • 5 years of IT Project Management experience in, at least, medium size company;
  • 2 – 5 years experience of managing IT staff;
  • Driver’s licence;
  • Experience in operating in a Visual environment.

Requirements:

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following:

  • A proven track record of strong management and leadership skills;
  • Superior capability and proven track record of successful delivery of IT projects;
  • Solid experience in preparing budgets and actively managing the budget, tracking actuals against budget;
  • Extensive experience in managing resources responsible for Development, Application Support, Infrastructure and Service Management;
  • An understanding of ITIL principles and IT governance.
  • Manage staff.

Legal and Policy Officer

(Job Ref: RECR/LP001)

Reporting to:     Compliance and Research Manager

Job Purpose:

To maintain a contract management system ensuring compliance with the legal and policy environment and to provide full-service legal and policy related advise and support services on a broad range of matters to all departments within the NFVF.

Qualification & Experience:

  • B degree in Law;
  • Admission as an Attorney or Advocate;
  • 4 – 5 years post qualification experience;
  • Experience in legal role in media/content/creative/cultural industries;
  • Understanding of intellectual property and its application to content is mandatory;
  • Experience in a policy and/or compliance environment advantageous;
  • Knowledge of Government Regulatory Framework advantageous e.g. PFMA, BBBEE, Preferential Procurement, POPI, PAIA.

Requirements:

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Research and monitor the legal and regulatory framework of the audio-visual industry;
  • Monitor the NFVF’s compliance with industry regulatory framework;
  • Develop, and review NFVF policies;
  • Draft organisational contracts;
  • Manage organisational contract management system;
  • Supervise staff when required.
