Annecy international animation film festival student online mentorship programme
The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) is pleased to announce a student mentorship programme, in association with the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market in France, to promote and nurture emerging talent in the field of animation.
The programme consists of leading a delegation of animation content creators to attend the online Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market. Delegates will participate in activities to expose them to this sector of the film industry.
Activities will include pitching workshops, pitching sessions, masterclasses and workshops on the business of animation.
The National Film and Video Foundation is awarding students an opportunity to participate in this programme to promote animation as a career within South Africa. We are looking for passionate students about animation and who can conceptualize original and authentic drawings to create animation content.
This opportunity is open to all students within South Africa who are pursuing animation as a career at an accredited tertiary institution.
BRIEF: Interested students are requested to do a character design of the main character featured in any South African film and submit that via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 04 June 2021.
Winners will be selected based on:
Selected students will have online access to the festival screenings, work in progress sessions, masterclasses, making off and MIFA campus. The MIFA Campus is an exciting opportunity for students and professionals from around the world to meet with recruiters, attend various masterclasses and discuss initiatives and schemes in the animation industry.
CRITERIA FOR ENTRY:
1. An artwork (character design) and the name of the movie
2. Proof of registration
3. ID Copy
