The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) and the custodians of the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs), is pleased to announce that submissions are now officially open for the 20th Annual South African Film & Television Awards (SAFTAs20).
The SAFTAs were established to honour, celebrate, promote, and reward the creativity, quality, and excellence of South African film and television talent and productions. The awards also seek to encourage entrepreneurship and support the development of emerging talent within the local screen industry.
South African production companies are invited to submit their eligible film and television productions for consideration. Entrants are encouraged to carefully review the updated submission guidelines, which outline the qualifying criteria for each award category.
Entries must be submitted online via the SAFTAs portal at www.saftasonline.co.za.
Submission Deadline: 06 September 2026 at 23:59 (midnight).
