France – South Africa Co-Production workshop final selection

FRANCE – SOUTH AFRICA CO-PRODUCTION WORKSHOP

Final Selection

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) and the National Centre for Cinema (CNC) of France, in conjunction with the French Embassy in South Africa, are happy to announce the selected attendees of the second South-Africa/France co-production workshop to be held in Paris following the call for application that was launched on November 3rd 2016.

 

The two-day workshop will take place in Paris on the 29th and  30th of March 2017, at the CNC head offices with the aim to create a platform for South African filmmakers/producers with developed feature film projects to meet with their fellow French producers, and find potential partners with a view to co-produce their projects.

This workshop is part of the on-going collaboration between the NFVF, CNC and the French Embassy in South Africa to strengthen the cooperation in the film industry between France and South Africa, and to encourage co-productions within the framework of the co-production treaty existing between the two countries.

 

The successful productions that have been aproved are:

 

Magic (Rodway Productions /Mickey Dube)

The Colonel Stray Dogs (Steven Markovitz/ Khalid Shamis)

The Day of the Covenant (Dan Jawitz/ Philip Roberts)

Uhlanjululo (Robbie Thorpe/ Zamo Mkhwanazi)

Uitlander (Cait Pansegrouw/Wim Steytler)
