Shnit Worldwide Shortfilmfestival Edition 15 Calls for Entries – REMINDER: DEADLINE 1 JUNE

Now in its fifteenth year, shnit Worldwide Shortfilmfestival hits screens in Cape Town, Bangkok, Bern, Buenos Aires, Cairo, Hong Kong, Moscow and San Jose in October 2017.  Films from across the world will compete for a share of $20,000, to be presented at shnit’s fifth New York awards show FINALE.

In Cape Town’s eighth year, South African shorts will once again screen in and out of competition, with both jury and audience awards presented.   

A yearly highlight on South Africa’s festival calendar, shnit 2017 takes place 18-22 October in venues in and around Cape Town.  The official schedule and film line up will be announced in September.  

FOR SOUTH AFRICAN FILMMAKERS:

MADE IN SOUTH AFRICA National Competition entries are automatically entered into all International Competition categories, where eligible.  No need to double up on entries, nor to pay International Competition submission fees.

shnit Worldwide Shortfilmfestival is a premier venue for the exhibition and celebration of short films. The festival is an exceptional twelve day event  – a transnational film festival taking place simultaneously on five continents worldwide.  The International Competition includes five award categories and total cash prizes of US$ 20,000 and attracts award-winning short filmmakers from around the globe. In addition, each PLAYGROUND presents national Jury and Audience Awards, in a CLOSING NIGHT ceremony held one week before the New York FINALE.
