The NFVF extends condolences to the family, friends and fans of SAFTAs award-winning actress, Shoki Mokgapa

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture, and custodian of the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) is deeply saddened by the passing of award-winning actress, Shoki Mokgapa.

Shoki was recognised for excellence in her craft and was awarded a Golden Horn Award at the 11th Annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs 11) for Best Actress in a Feature Film for her portrayal of the character Rachel Nyaga, in Sink.

Shoki will be remembered for her infectious energy, her dedication to her craft and the amazing work she has put in to not only the film industry, but for her work on television shows; Intersexions, Ashes to Ashes, The Docket, and The Lab.

Her passing is not only a loss to her loved ones, but our industry as a whole. May her soul rest in eternal peace.” says NFVF Acting CEO, Mr. Shadrack Bokaba
